York Drama is proud to present the world premiere of a new Shakespeare adaptation. Margaret – Rose of the Wars blends four of Shakespeare’s plays, the Henry VI trilogy and Richard III, into a little over two hours of political intrigue, romance, all out war and revenge, all set to a symphonic rock soundtrack. Shakespeare’s telling of the War of the Roses provided George R. R. Martin with an inspiration for Game of Thrones and provides us with the origins of the Duke of York. Staged against a modern setting, Shakespeare’s words give us the cautionary tale of how a single disagreement can send shock waves that wreak havoc on each of us individually and society at large.  Margaret – Rose of the Wars runs October 30 to November 1 at 7:30 p.m. and November 2 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available now.
